COLLEGE FAIR AT EFD at 11 am & 2 pm, Thurs., Aug. 11th

Agriculture is a growth industry; it offers careers that include: production, sales, engineering, biochemistry, communications, processing, retail, nutrition, the opportunities are endless and exciting. The leading agricultural colleges want to meet with students to talk about their programs and opportunities.

This, first-ever, College Fair will be host to NY’s leading agricultural colleges, Cornell University’s College of Agriculture and Life Sciences, SUNY @ Cobleskill, SUNY @ Morrisville, and SUNY Alfred. Representatives from these colleges will gather at 11am & 2 pm on Thursday, Aug. 11, in the Special Events Center (#600), to meet with students and guidance counselors, all in one place, at one time, making it easy and convenient for students to learn and explore their college and career opportunities. It will be a unique chance for colleges and students to come face to face to talk about their programs and the admission process. Interested students (high school and college transfers), their parents and others are invited to this first ever College Fair at Empire Farm Days.

EFD provides a crash course in agricultural careers for students. For the past 72 years, Empire Farm Days has presented the newest technology, methods and products in agriculture to the Northeast. The most successful farmers, and anyone involved in Northeast agribusiness uses this information to keep themselves at the leading edge of agricultural productivity and innovation. That’s why Empire Farm Days is the perfect place for students and individuals interested in a career in agriculture to learn more.

In addition to this opportunity, students can visit any of these colleges during the 3-days of the show, Aug. 9-11 at their booths at Empire Farm Days. They know that visitors to EFD represent the top 2% of the agricultural specialists in the Northeast: the people who change the face of agriculture each year by applying the newest technologies and methods they discovered at Empire Farm Days. Colleges want to connect to this group because they are the type of people colleges want to graduate…industry leaders and innovators.

Empire Farm Days wants to encourage students to visit this year and get a feel for the excitement of Northeast agriculture. After all, agriculture is a growth industry.
