New York Agriculture…Leading by Example

New York’s Diverse and Innovative agriculture practices have helped carve its place in American history. But New York agriculture is far more than a page of out of a history book. Programs such as the Pride of New York, Agricultural Environmental Management (AEM), and then New York State Horse Health Assurance Program (NYSHHAP), and Cattle Health Assurance Program (NYSCHAP) are continuing our tradition and leading by example.

At Booth 1000 in the Main Tent, these signature programs come alive at the New York State Department of Agriculture and Markets display.

• Find out more about the Pride of New York, the State’s branding program for New York food and agriculture producers.
• See How the AEM program has helped identify environmental risks on farms and has helped implement practices to prevent future ones.
• Learn about the advances in cattle health assurance in New York State with our NYSCHAP program.
• On the other side of the show, be sure to visit Booth 503 in the Equine Center to learn more about the exciting advances in animal identification with microchips, now part of the NYSHHAP program.
• Agriculture Industry Representatives – New York will be hosting the National Association of State Departments of Agriculture (NASDA) Annual Meeting this September in Cooperstown. Stop by the booth to find out more about NASDA 2005 and how you can be a part of it!
