New York FFA Activities at the Empire Farm Days TRACTOR OPERATORS CONTEST/ WELDING CONTEST #928
FFA Career Development Events offer students the opportunity to test their skills and knowledge within specific areas of the agriculture industry. During Empire Farm Days students from chapters throughout New York participate in tractor driving and welding competitions. The tractor driving event requires students to complete a driving course that includes backing up and parking both two and four wheel wagons. The participants must also complete a written exam and identify the parts of a tractor. During the welding career development event students must produce specific welds and complete a written exam. Look for the student events on Thursday of Empire Farm Days. Visitors are welcome to observe the students in action. The New York FFA Association thanks the many exhibitors that help sponsor both the tractor driving and welding activities.
